The scientific support for this test within mainstream Dutch healthcare is limited. The test is not included in NHG/FMS standard guidelines.
Rationale for this test
Pregnenolon is een voorloper van steroïdhormonen, maar de test wordt niet opgenomen in Nederlandse zorgrichtlijnen (NHG, FMS) voor standaard-diagnostiek. Binnen de reguliere geneeskunde wordt pregnenolon-meting alleen in zeer specifieke onderzoekscontexten gebruikt, niet als routine-diagnosticum voor hormonale disbalans of vermoeidheidsklachten. De wetenschappelijke onderbouwing voor klinische toepassing bij de genoemde indicaties (vermoeidheid, stemmingswisselingen, geheugenproblemen) is beperkt.
