Rationale for this test
Microbioomanalyse van de darm is een onderzoekstechniek die in ontwikkeling is binnen de wetenschap. Er is wetenschappelijk bewijs dat darmbacteriën een rol spelen bij gezondheid en ziekte, maar de klinische betekenis van microbioomtesten voor individuele diagnostiek of behandeling is nog beperkt. Deze test is niet opgenomen in Nederlandse zorgrichtlijnen (NHG/FMS) als standaard-diagnosticum. De interpretatie van resultaten en de vertaling naar concrete gezondheidsadviezen zijn nog onvoldoende gestandaardiseerd voor routinematig gebruik.
