The ENA Blood Test is a blood test used to detect specific antibodies in the blood that are directed against extractable nuclear antigens. A positive ENA Blood Test means that antibodies against one or more extractable nuclear antigens have been found in the blood, suggesting the presence of an autoimmune disease.
A negative ENA Blood Test means that no antibodies against extractable nuclear antigens were found. This may indicate the absence of the tested autoimmune diseases, but it does not rule out other conditions or the need for further testing.

De ENA-blottest is een gevestigde laboratoriumtest binnen de Nederlandse reguliere geneeskunde voor de diagnostiek van systemische auto-immuunziekten zoals lupus, Sjögren-syndroom en sclerodermie. De test is opgenomen in de aanbevelingen van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Klinische Chemie en Laboratoriumgeneeskunde (NVKC) als onderdeel van de standaard auto-antistofbepalingen bij verdenking op deze aandoeningen. De klinische betekenis en diagnostische waarde zijn goed onderbouwd.

After ordering we generate a referral letter and email you the instructions. You pick a collection point yourself and book an appointment there. Blood is drawn at the location, processed at the lab, and your result arrives digitally.
Often within a few working days. How soon you can be seen depends on how busy the location is and the type of analysis. For specialist analyses we first ship collection materials, which takes a bit longer.
At most collection points yes. Some accept walk-ins. This is clearly indicated per location. You choose the location that works best for you.
That depends on the test. Whether fasting is required, and from what time, is clearly stated in the instructions you receive after ordering. No surprises at the counter.
