Blood collection at a location
Choose your test and a nearby collection point online. You then receive the request form with instructions for your appointment.
Before your appointment
After your order, you receive everything needed to plan your blood draw. Your personal instructions explain which collection point to choose and whether you need an appointment.
View collection pointsOrder one test, a package or a combination of individual analyses. Multiple analyses can usually be performed from the same blood draw.
Once processed, we email your request form and practical instructions. Print the form before your visit.
Use the link in your instructions to choose a collection point and time online. Your instructions will say if walk-in collection is available.
At the collection point
You check in, wait to be called and take a seat in the collection chair. The staff member checks your details and then draws the required tubes of blood.
Are you nervous, afraid of needles or prone to feeling faint? Tell the staff member beforehand. They can recline you and take things slowly.
Check in at the desk or kiosk where available. Then wait until you are called.
The staff member checks your name, date of birth and request form and confirms which tubes are needed.
You take a seat. The staff member briefly places a band around your upper arm, cleans the skin and fills the required tubes.
After the needle is removed, apply pressure to the puncture site. The blood draw itself usually takes only a few minutes.
After the blood draw
The laboratory processes and analyses your blood. Turnaround time varies by test and is shown on the product page.
The laboratory measures the requested values and checks the report before releasing it.
Once the result is complete, we send you a secure email containing the laboratory report as a PDF.
You see the measured values, units, reference ranges and any laboratory flags. BloedCheckup does not provide individual medical interpretation; discuss questions or abnormal values with your GP.
Only for some tests
Most blood tests use only a digital request form. For analyses that a local laboratory does not routinely perform, we send the specific tubes by post. Take them unused to your appointment. After collection, take the filled tubes home and return them using the enclosed instructions.
Practical information
After ordering we generate a referral letter and email you the instructions. You pick a collection point yourself and book an appointment there. Blood is drawn at the location, processed at the lab, and your result arrives digitally.
Often within a few working days. How soon you can be seen depends on how busy the location is and the type of analysis. For specialist analyses we first ship collection materials, which takes a bit longer.
At most collection points yes. Some accept walk-ins. This is clearly indicated per location. You choose the location that works best for you.
That depends on the test. Whether fasting is required, and from what time, is clearly stated in the instructions you receive after ordering. No surprises at the counter.
It varies per analysis: from same-day to a few working days. Standard values often come back quickly; analyses that go to an external lab can take a bit longer. You receive your laboratory report securely by email. It lists the measured values, units, reference ranges and any flags added by the laboratory.
We work with 1,000+ collection points across the Netherlands. After ordering you'll see which locations near you are available and you pick where you'd like to go.
