At-home collection instructions

Your collection kit
Your kit includes everything needed for a safe, clear collection.

Step 1
Wash your hands with warm water.

Step 2
Dry and warm your hands for 2–5 minutes (rub or keep them warm).

Step 3
Place the collection tube upright in the stand.

Step 4
Choose the side of the ring or middle finger; these usually give the best flow.

Step 5
Gently massage blood towards the fingertip; avoid strong squeezing (don’t force fluid).

Step 6
Clean the puncture site with the alcohol wipe and let it dry.

Step 7
Remove the cap from the lancet (medical fingerstick device).

Step 8
Press the lancet firmly onto the site and activate in one motion.

Step 9
Guide the blood drops into the tube; keep the tube stable in the stand.

Step 10
Fill at least up to the marks on the tube.

Step 11
Close the tube and gently invert it a few times.

Step 12
Verify the cap is fully closed.

Step 13
Place the tube back upright in the stand.

Step 14
Put the tube in the seal bag and close it well.

Step 15
Place the seal bag into the medical return envelope.

Step 16
Place the envelope in the letter-mail bag inside a PostNL service point yourself. Do not hand it to counter staff or request track & trace. Preferably send Mon–Fri.

After collection
Return your sample on the same working day whenever possible to preserve its quality. If your kit contains a medical return envelope, put it into the letter-mail bag or indoor letter box at a PostNL point yourself. Do not hand it over or request track and trace, as parcel processing can delay it by several days.
