What is BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen Test)?
BUN stands for 'Blood Urea Nitrogen' and measures the amount of urea nitrogen in the blood. Urea nitrogen is a waste product created when proteins are broken down by the body. The kidneys filter this waste out of the blood, after which it leaves the body via urine. The BUN test, often performed together with a creatinine test, helps in assessing kidney function.

The BUN test is useful for evaluating kidney health, especially if there are symptoms suggesting kidney problems, such as fatigue, difficulty urinating, swollen hands and feet, or if you have a condition that may affect the kidneys. Do I need to book an appointment?
At most collection points yes. Some accept walk-ins. This is clearly indicated per location. You choose the location that works best for you.
