What is the Whoop Advanced Labs Blood Analysis?

Whoop Advanced Labs is a comprehensive blood analysis that measures biomarkers and integrates directly with your WHOOP wearable. This test links your blood values to your daily WHOOP data such as recovery scores, HRV, sleep quality, and training load. You gain insight into what affects your performance, energy, and recovery.

The Whoop Advanced Labs biomarkers include:

  • Total Cholesterol: Complete measurement of all cholesterol forms.
  • LDL Cholesterol: "Bad" cholesterol that can cause vascular narrowing.
  • HDL Cholesterol: "Good" cholesterol that removes excess LDL.
  • Non-HDL Cholesterol: All potentially harmful cholesterol particles.

Why get Whoop Advanced Labs done?

Whoop Advanced Labs offers unique integration for WHOOP users:

  • WHOOP App Integration: Results directly visible alongside your recovery, sleep, and exertion data.
  • Comprehensive Biomarkers: One of the most complete consumer tests available.
  • Understand your WHOOP Data: Discover why your recovery scores are low or performance is decreasing.
  • Progress Tracking: Upload old lab results for free into the WHOOP app.
  • Athletically Oriented: Biomarkers specifically relevant for training, recovery, and performance.

What do the results mean?

Your blood values are linked to your WHOOP metrics. Low ferritin with poor recovery scores? Elevated cortisol with sleep problems? The test shows what influences your WHOOP data and provides concrete starting points for optimization.

Why is Whoop Advanced Labs important?

For WHOOP users, this test is the missing link. Your WHOOP shows how your body performs, but Advanced Labs shows why. Upload your results directly into the WHOOP app and optimize your training, nutrition, and recovery based on objective data. This blood test contains the biomarkers analyzed by WHOOP Advanced Labs.

Limited evidence in mainstream medicine

The scientific support for this test within mainstream Dutch healthcare is limited. The test is not included in NHG/FMS standard guidelines.

Rationale for this test

Practical information

Frequently asked questions

How does it work from order to result?

After ordering we generate a referral letter and email you the instructions. You pick a collection point yourself and book an appointment there. Blood is drawn at the location, processed at the lab, and your result arrives digitally.

How quickly can I get tested?

Often within a few working days. How soon you can be seen depends on how busy the location is and the type of analysis. For specialist analyses we first ship collection materials, which takes a bit longer.

Do I need to book an appointment?

At most collection points yes. Some accept walk-ins. This is clearly indicated per location. You choose the location that works best for you.

Do I need to fast before the test?

That depends on the test. Whether fasting is required, and from what time, is clearly stated in the instructions you receive after ordering. No surprises at the counter.

When and how do I receive my result?

It varies per analysis: from same-day to a few working days. Standard values often come back quickly; analyses that go to an external lab can take a bit longer. You receive your laboratory report securely by email. It lists the measured values, units, reference ranges and any flags added by the laboratory.

Where can I go for collection?

We work with 1,000+ collection points across the Netherlands. After ordering you'll see which locations near you are available and you pick where you'd like to go.

“Smooth process and good support”

Amazing website experience. I ordered various tests for 2 people. We went to one of the supported centers and took samples. Also after the results were ready, I needed a letter from the laboratory and they prepared the letter for me in no time. Definitely recommended.

“Amazing service!”

Received a packet with everything needed, went to a walk in clinic (Amsterdam DC Clinic) where my blood was drawn and I was out the door within 5 minutes, and then after posting the samples, received results 2 days later. Results were easy to understand as well. Amazing service, would highly recommend!
