ACE, or Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the renin-angiotensin system, which regulates blood pressure and affects the balance of fluids and salts in the body. ACE helps convert angiotensin I into angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor that raises blood pressure. Also known as Granulomas.
Testing ACE levels can be useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions affecting the lungs, heart, and blood pressure, such as hypertension (high blood pressure) or certain forms of heart failure. It can also assist in detecting sarcoidosis, a disease that leads to the formation of tissue nodules (granulomas) in various organs, including the lungs and lymph nodes.
ACE levels can help diagnose sarcoidosis and can be an indicator of the disease's activity. High levels of ACE may suggest active disease, while normal levels may suggest the disease is less active.
A high level of ACE in the blood may indicate the presence of sarcoidosis or increased activity of this disease. It can also be associated with high blood pressure due to the increased production of angiotensin II, which leads to vasoconstriction and elevated blood pressure.
A low ACE level is generally not a cause for concern and may occur in healthy individuals. However, in some cases, it may indicate ineffective angiotensin conversion, which could potentially lead to issues with blood pressure regulation.

After ordering we generate a referral letter and email you the instructions. You pick a collection point yourself and book an appointment there. Blood is drawn at the location, processed at the lab, and your result arrives digitally.
Usually very quickly. Collection points typically have slots within a few days, sometimes even same-day. It depends on how busy the location is. For a few specialist analyses we first ship collection materials, which takes a bit longer.
At most collection points yes. Some accept walk-ins. This is clearly indicated per location. You choose the location that works best for you.
