Measuring the peak concentration of the substance in the blood 3 hours after intake can help optimize the dosage for personalized use, minimizing the risks of overdose and side effects.
The concentration of Rapamycin/Sirolimus in the blood indicates how much of the medication is currently present in the body. This can help determine whether the current dosage is effective for the intended purpose without increasing the risk of negative side effects.

Deze test meet de bloedconcentratie van rapamycine (sirolimus), een medicijn dat in de reguliere geneeskunde uitsluitend wordt voorgeschreven als immunosuppressivum na orgaantransplantatie of bij specifieke zeldzame aandoeningen. Het off-label gebruik voor 'anti-veroudering' heeft geen wetenschappelijke basis binnen de Nederlandse reguliere geneeskunde. Therapeutische spiegelbepaling van rapamycine is een gevestigde test, maar uitsluitend voor patiënten die dit medicijn op medische indicatie gebruiken onder specialistisch toezicht. Het aanbieden van deze test voor zelfmedicatie met rapamycine voor anti-verouderingsdoeleinden valt buiten de reguliere zorg.
